Mardi Himal Trek

For those embarking on their first encounter with the Mardi Himal Trek, it stands apart as an experience distinct from the famed Annapurna Circuit Trek. Recognized as an ideal journey for novices, intermediates, and seasoned trekkers alike, especially when time is a constraint, the Mardi Himal Trek offers its unique allure. Just as every trek, whether grand or modest, holds its own charm, the Mardi Himal Trek boasts landscapes that epitomize the trekker’s ultimate aspiration. Whether you choose the Annapurna Circuit Trek or opt for the Mardi Himal Trek, both unveil within the magnificent realm of the Annapurna Region, a hiker’s paradise. It is noteworthy that this region ranks as the second most celebrated trekking destination in Nepal, and is globally acclaimed, as corroborated by the National Geographic Magazine.

The Mardi Himal Trek, ascending to an altitude of 4,250 meters, caters to the yearnings of those trekkers who relish ridge walks. It is a relatively recent addition to the trekking landscape, welcoming adventurers only since 2012, with the intention of leaving indelible imprints through its breathtaking natural splendors. The trek unfolds with awe-inspiring vistas of the Fishtail Mountain, a prominent highlight of the Annapurna Region. Moreover, trekkers can choose to explore the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, the Annapurna Circuit Trek, or the Poon Hill Trek from this region. Yet, what sets the Mardi Himal Trek apart is its delightful semblance to a homestay experience.

Accommodation:
During your stay in Kathmandu and Pokhara, you will reside in comfortable 3-star hotels. However, once you embark on the trek, your nights will be spent in tea houses. These tea houses, reminiscent of lodges or guesthouses, retain their historical moniker from four decades ago when they primarily served tea to travelers. Today, they offer nourishing meals and cozy bedrooms to trekkers and climbers. This traditional term “tea house” still prevails in the parlance of Nepalese trekking agencies, hence the label “tea house trek.” The amenities at these tea houses vary from one village to another. While some feature attached bathrooms and hot water facilities, others offer more basic accommodations, necessitating shared toilet and bathroom facilities. Given their high-altitude and remote locations, some tea houses provide dormitory-style lodging. However, they all supply a bed, pillow, blanket, and bedsheet, although it is advisable to carry your own sleeping bag.

Accommodation Breakdown:

  • Kathmandu: 2 Nights in a 3-star hotel
  • Pokhara: 2 Nights in a 3-star hotel
  • Mountain Tea House/Guesthouse: 6 Nights during the trek

Transportation:
Your trip package includes transportation fare, ensuring a hassle-free experience in Nepal. This fare covers airport pickup and drop-off via private vehicle, as well as the convenience of a tourist bus for the Kathmandu-Pokhara-Kathmandu route.

Arrival and Briefing:
Upon arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will be readily visible, holding a signboard bearing our company name. You will be promptly transferred to your hotel, where one of our representatives will provide you with detailed trip information. If time permits, you may also visit our office or receive the briefing in your hotel lobby.

Meals:
In Kathmandu and Pokhara, we provide daily breakfast at your hotel. While trekking in the mountainous terrain, your body requires ample energy due to the higher altitude. Consequently, we offer meals that balance carbohydrates, protein, and fat content. You will receive three hearty meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with tea or coffee.

Meal Inclusions:

  • Breakfast: 10
  • Lunch: 6
  • Dinner: 7

Farewell Dinner:
The farewell dinner serves as a momentous occasion for both you and us. We will enjoy an authentic Nepali dining experience in a traditional restaurant. This is an opportunity for you to share your Nepal experiences, get acquainted with our company team, and express your thoughts about our services while savoring a delightful meal together.

Accomplishment Certificate:
As a token of appreciation and affection, our company will present you with an accomplishment certificate along with traditional Nepali gifts. This gesture symbolizes our gratitude for entrusting the Travel Max Guide team with your journey.

About Travel Max Guide Team:
Travel Max Guide comprises a team of dedicated professionals with over a decade of experience in the tourism industry. We are passionate about adventure and committed to sustainable tourism practices. Our journey began with a noble purpose, initially involved in social work to support the education of underprivileged children in Nepal. Recognizing the need to raise funds, we devised a strategy to establish our own travel business, thereby generating local resources by organizing trekking, tours, and outdoor activities in Nepal.

Our team consists of local experts and licensed guides certified by the Nepal Government. We are well-versed in first aid, climbing and trekking techniques, and possess comprehensive knowledge and training relevant to our field.

Travel Insurance:
Given the trek’s high-altitude nature, with elevations exceeding 3,000 meters, travel insurance is imperative. It is essential to secure comprehensive insurance coverage in your home country before arriving in Nepal, prior to commencing your trek. Your insurance policy should include provisions for medical expenses, helicopter evacuations from altitudes between 5,000 and 6,000 meters, and other health-related contingencies. Please furnish a copy of your insurance policy to our company, which will facilitate the process in case of a mountain rescue operation as described above.

Passport and Visa:
Before embarking on your journey to Nepal, ensure that your passport maintains a validity of at least six months. Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, you can obtain a Tourist Visa ‘On Arrival’ by following a swift and straightforward procedure. It is advisable to carry four passport-sized photos. If you hail from China or SAARC countries, you are eligible for a free visa.

Trekking Information:
Nepal offers trekking opportunities throughout the year, catering to a wide range of preferences. Below are the recommended trekking seasons, each with its unique charm:

  • Autumn Season (September to November)
  • Winter Season (November to February)
  • Spring Season (March to May)
  • Rainy Season (June to August)

As a trekker, you can choose from various trekking styles in Nepal, including Tea House Trekking, Camping, Home Stay, and more. Group Trekking and Private Treks:
For group treks, we typically accommodate a minimum of two people and a maximum of 30 participants. Our group treks are led by knowledgeable guides, with one porter assigned for every two trekkers and an assistant trekking guide for groups of eight or more. However, if you prefer a private trek tailored to your schedule and requirements, we are pleased to accommodate solo trekkers and create customized itineraries to suit your needs.

Supporting a Worthy Cause:
Travel Max Guide is an initiative of First Act Nepal (FAN), an organization dedicated to creating a positive impact. You may wonder why we are contributing to social causes when there are already numerous such organizations. The answer is simple: we believe in sharing our blessings. Our guiding principle is “Love Your Neighbor as Yourself,” and we aim to live by it.

Travel Max Guide allocates a portion of its income to support FAN’s child sponsorship program, which assists the children of Nepal. Our small contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of those longing for love and support. We aspire to build a more inclusive community where everyone has opportunities for growth and development. Let’s share what we can and act on our heartfelt intentions.

Volunteering Opportunities:
We consider volunteering to be a pivotal aspect of our work. If you are interested in volunteering or engaging in social initiatives during your visit, please feel free to contact us. We can guide you on how to contribute meaningfully to the local community.

If you wish to capture your travel moments in a special way, Travel Max Guide offers travel documentaries and travel photography trips throughout Nepal. This special service is not included in the standard price package, so please inform us of your group size, timeframe, and requirements.
